ESET Smart Security Public Beta 2 (August 23, 2007)
ESET Smart Security Public Beta Version 2 contains the following changes:
PROGRAM
• Support for 64-bit Microsoft Windows XP, Server 2003 and Vista systems
• Support for Microsoft Outlook Express (anti-virus, anti-spyware)
• Drives, folders and files can now be scanned from the context menu in Windows Explorer by right-clicking on them
• rebuilt graphic user interface
• additional functionality improvements and bug fixes
UPDATES
• Added support for creation of mirrors for signature update files. The mirror settings are available in the Advanced Update setup pane. For updating via HTTP you can now choose the desired authentication method.
ANTISPAM
• Added support for Microsoft Outlook Express and Windows Mail email clients.
NOTE: If you experience a problem upgrading from an older version, please uninstall it and then install ESET Smart Security Public Beta 2.
ESET Smart Security Public Beta 1b (June 26, 2007)
ESET Smart Security Public Beta Version 1b contains the following changes:
ESET PERSONAL FIREWALL
• Improved firewall diagnostics to provide better data when errors occur.
INSTALLATION
• Digital certificate has new expiration date.
• Revised license expiration date for ThreatSense updates.
NOTE: In most cases you will not need to reboot if you are upgrading from a previous build of ESET Smart Security, however, the version displayed in the ESET Graphic User Interface (filename: EGUI.EXE) banner will remain unchanged until the application is restarted or the computer rebooted.
ESET Smart Security Public Beta 1a (May 10, 2007)
ESET Smart Security Public Beta Version 1a contains the following changes:
ESET PERSONAL FIREWALL
• Improved compatibility with other installed TDI filters, such as Sunbelt Software Personal Firewall.
• Fixed an issue with notification windows not being displayed when the firewall is in Interactive Mode.
• Fixed an issue with excluding applications from being checked for modifications.
REAL-TIME FILE SYSTEM PROTECTION
• Fixed an issue with the graphic user interface not properly reporting when real-time file system protection had been disabled.
• Fixed an issue with how real-time file system protection scanned newly-created or modified files. Real-time scanning now properly quarantines files infected files on network shares.
ON-DEMAND SCANNING
• Fixed the problem with scanning the "My Computer" object or individual files were checked.
ANTI-SPAM
• Fixed an issue with Outlook 2007 crashing when closed.
INSTALLATION
• Fixed two issues which prevented ESET Smart Security from installing on some computers.
Several misspellings in the user interface and the online help have been corrected as well.
