JS/IEStart.G

To eradicate the JS/IEStart.G trojan infiltration from your computer, please follow these steps:

  1. Dowload the iestartg_cln.exe cleaner from our website and save it to an arbitrary directory on your drive (e.g. "c:\download")
  2. Close Outlook Express if running.
  3. Run the file from the location where it was saved. The cleaner will reverse any changes made by JS/IEstart.G and save a log of all actions performed to the same directory.
  4. As this trojan leaves some of its components in the temporary Internet Explorer directory, it is necessary to delete the whole directory content as follows:
    • in the main Internet Explorer menu select "Tools / Internet Options". A new window entitled Internet Options will pop up
    • go to the General tab
    • click the Delete Files button
    • confirm the action by pressing OK
  5. If you are an Outlook Express user, adjust the signature settings as follows:
    • run Outlook Express
    • go to "Tools / Options / Signatures"
    • select the signature named "1" and click the "Remove" button
    • if you had another signature set as default before, please select it in the list of signatures and click on "Set as default"

To fix the bug in Outlook Express, please download and apply the patch from the following location:
