Arusiek

Arusiek is parasitic, resident COM and EXE infector. It is 817 bytes long. When the infected file is executed the virus will locate itself to the end of conventional memory and hook the interrupts INT 21h and INT 16H (keyboard service). It infects files as they are executed and opened. It avoids some programs: MKS (the best Polish anti-virus), NAV, CLEAN, MUM3 and COMMAND.COM. Occasionally it shows its presence by changing keyboard entry for string “Arusiek R.”. It is obvious that the virus is of Polish origin.
