Chinese Fish

Chinese Fish is a memory resident, stealth, boot and MBR virus. Upon booting from an infected diskette the hard disk’s MBR is attacked and moved to the address F20:0000. But the size of free memory for DOS is not altered and that is why the virus is vulnerable in memory and may cause that the computer “freezes”. The virus attacks the boot sector of every diskette that is not write-protected. There is a peculiar feature in this virus – it removes some variants of the most spread boot viruses - Stoned . In addition to this activity it sometimes also writes the following text:

Hello! I am FISH, please don't kill me. Congratulate 80th year of Republic Of China Building, Fish will help to kill stone Written by Fish in NTIT. TAIWAN 80.10.18
