Selected viruses, spyware, and other threats: sorted alphabetically

This is a simple, parasitic, direct action COM infector. Its length is 591 bytes. The virus identifies its presence in files by means of a 13 bytes long code sequence “01 02 03 04 05 06 06 06 05 04 03 02 01”. On the screen these codes are displayed as a set of playing cards symbols enclosed by smiling faces. We named the virus after that feature. The most displeasing side of the virus is its destructive activity. When the infected file is executed on the same day of month as it was executed previously – but at least three months later – the virus will overwrite the hard disk’s boot sector. Even if this probably does not happen very often it is unpleasant. The next condition of liquidation is year 1991 minimum.
