W97M/Assilem.A

W97M/Assilem.A is a macro virus operating in the Microsoft Word 97 environments. It attacks active documents and the global template normal.dot. Its code is derived from W97M/Melissa.A.
After an infected document is opened W97M/Assilem.A attacks the global template normal.dot and then attacks documents when they are opened.
The code of the virus was created by removing parts of W97M/Melissa.A which ensure spreading by the electronic mail. Name of the module containing the virus code is "Melissa". At the end of the virus body is the same text:

'WORD/Melissa written by Kwyjibo
'Works in both Word 2000 and Word 97
'Worm? Macro Virus? Word 97 Virus? Word 2000 Virus? You Decide!
'Word -> Email | Word 97 <--> Word 2000 ... it's a new age!
In case that upon opening a document number of minutes equals the ordinal number of the day within a month W97M/Assilem.A displays the following text:
Twenty-two points, plus triple-word-score, plus fifty points for using all my letters. Game's over. I'm outta here.
