Children with Disabilities to Receive Surprise Visit from World-Renowned Camp

SAN DIEGO – June 1, 2021 – Summer camps will never look the same after this year. Today, ESET announced its sponsorship of The Wampler Foundation’s Camp Wamp Across America Tour – a 17-city tour across the country designed to bring summer camp to children with disabilities.

The eight-week tour will cover 32 states and include a variety of unique activities, including riding in Lamborghinis, paragliding, participating in a rodeo, and attending Major League Baseball games in select cities. A customized ESET motorhome will be driven by camp counselors to bring the excitement of Camp Wamp to each city.

“We are excited to support Camp Wamp Across America as this incredible organization brings their message of optimism and inspiration to families this summer,” says Brent McCarty, president of ESET North America. “ESET has been a long-term supporter of The Wampler Foundation and we are proud to help enable this initiative. I look forward to seeing all the smiles from the children once the ESET motorhome arrives at their doorstep.”

Each stop during the tour will provide unique experiences for the children and the hosts of the tour are working closely with their family members. A surprise by Blitz, the Seattle Seahawks mascot, will kick off the day in Seattle and in Denver, the children will spend the day with the Denver Bronco cheerleaders while receiving a behind the scenes tour of the stadium. Additional activities will be announced during the tour.

Camp Wamp was founded by Steven and Elizabeth Wampler in 2002 with the goal of providing unique outdoor experiences for children with disabilities. Located in Soda Springs, California, the camp provides hiking, fishing and canoeing, as well as STEAM experiences. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Wamplers only offered camp in a virtual format in 2020. This summer, Steven and Elizabeth are creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the children and partnered with ESET to promote optimism and positivity around disabilities.

“ESET’s ongoing support of the Wampler Foundation has been instrumental in helping us achieve our goal of doing more good for more kids with physical disabilities,” said Steven. “I am thrilled ESET is sponsoring this incredible adventure. Children have so much joy when attending summer camp and we couldn’t let another summer pass without providing the most memorable experiences ever for children with disabilities.”

The tour will begin with a kickoff event in Coronado, California, home of the Stephen J. Wampler Foundation, and end with a celebration at Camp Wamp on July 31. To follow Camp Wamp Across America, the Wamplers will post updates on their growing social media pages via TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
