ESET Champions the 16th Annual National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – October 1, 2019 – ESET, a global leader in IT security, today announced it will be leading multiple events and initiatives for National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) from October 1-31, 2019. NCSAM is designed to raise awareness about the severity of cyberthreats and encourage cybersecurity and privacy education.

ESET Global Security Evangelist and Industry Partnership Ambassador Tony Anscombe will share his thoughts on privacy and cybersecurity at “Privacy Implications in Emerging Technology”, a panel at the NCSA and NASDAQ Cybersecurity Summit in New York City. The panel will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 10:15 – 11:00 a.m. ET. Panelists include Infosec President and Founder Jack Koziol, Uber Chief Privacy Officer Ruby Zefo and NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Director of Cyber Security and Threat Mitigation Policy, Ben Voce-Gardner. NCSA Executive Director Kelvin Coleman will moderate.

That same day (Tuesday, October 8), ESET and NCSA will release the results of a survey of 4,000 consumers (2,000 Americans and 2,000 Canadians) on their attitudes towards the cybersecurity and privacy implications of connected home devices such as smart TVs, smart thermostats and home assistants.

During the month of October, ESET will regularly post helpful guides and social media content in support of NCSAM with the hashtags #BeCyberSmart and #CyberAware.
