ESET Shines at AVAR Conference: CRO Juraj Malcho Selected as WildList Reporter of the Year; Researchers Eugen Rodionov and Alex Matrosov Top Speakers
ESET, the leader in proactive protection celebrating 25 years of its technology this year, has just wrapped up another successful presence at the AVAR conference - one of the most renowned IT security gatherings internationally and the main Anti-malware conference in the Asia/Pacific region. ESET, as a traditional participant and long-time AVAR member, contributed with three presentations, one of which has been selected as the best paper of the conference by the conference delegates. Furthermore, as part of the conference, Chief Research Officer at ESET has been chosen by WildList International as their Reporter of the Year.
Researchers Alex Matrosov and Eugene Rodionov from ESET Moscow-based research team were chosen by the delegates of AVAR conference in Hangzhou, China as conference’s best speakers. They presented a paper on Festi Botnet Analysis and Investigation.

Also, Chief Research Officer at ESET, Juraj Malcho, has been chosen by WildList International as their Reporter of the Year. The mission of the Wildlist Organization is to provide accurate, timely and comprehensive information about "In the Wild" computer malware to both users and product developers. The WildList is a list of computer malware found in the wild and reported by a diverse group of over 55 qualified volunteers called reporters, and is made available free of charge by the organization. Perfect detection of Wildlist sets is one of the compulsory requirements for successful passing of ICSA certification and Virus Bulletin VB100 award, in which ESET has been unrivalled in history. This award is another independent confirmation of the high quality work performed by ESET’s malware detection team.
