In his blog post on WeLiveSecurity.com, Joan Calvet, Malware researcher at ESET, is analyzing the latest known cartoon malware on the cybercrime scene – Casper. After Bunny and Babar the Elephant, Casper is able to send a detailed report about the victim’s infected machine to its controller.

Casper not only uses 0-day exploits against the Flash application taking advantage of CVE-2014-0515 vulnerability, but also has built-in strategies that help the malware fight with almost any anti-virus or internet security solution installed on the infected machine.

“Moreover, the level of code sharing leads us to conclude with a pretty high confidence that Bunny, Babar and Casper were all developed by the same organization,” adds Calvet.
