National Cyber Security Awareness Month is here: ESET’s “Cybersecurity Cash Car” to drive cyber awareness across San Diego

Next story

To support National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), IT security firm ESET today announced that it will launch eight wrapped ESET / NCSAM-branded vehicles into the San Diego market for the month of October as part of its ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the seriousness of cyber threats and to encourage cyber education.

Of those eight vehicles — wrapped by its neighbors at San Diego-based ad-tech startup Wrapify — one will be the designated “Cybersecurity Cash Car.” The car and its Cybersecurity Awareness Team will be parked in various places around San Diego during the month of October, giving cash to people who correctly answer cyber-related questions. Anyone passing by the designated Cybersecurity Cash Car can play, with a chance to win hundreds of dollars in cash.

For hints on the Cybersecurity Cash Car’s pop-up locations, follow @ESET (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) and #CyberAware. There will also be opportunities to win by playing online.

All the wrapped cars sport an eset.com/cybersecurity URL, which is a page that contains free cybersecurity tools and resources for businesses and individuals, including ESET’s popular, free Cybersecurity Awareness Training

As part of the initiative, ESET will also match dollar for dollar players’ winnings with a donation to the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), the nation's leading cybersecurity awareness nonprofit. NCSAM was co-founded and is co-led by NCSA and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Now in its 14th year, this annual event is dedicated to ensuring all digital citizens have the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online and that protecting the internet is “Our Shared Responsibility.”
