Education: My university background is in IT, and later I specialized further with a master's degree in Information Security from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) of Mexico.
Career summary: IT equipment support technician, programmer, with a background in banking in Mexico, and cybersecurity.
Position and career path at ESET: I joined ESET in 2023 as a Security Researcher.
What malware do you hate the most? Adware.
Favorite activities: In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and reading news related to politics, economics, and cyberspace.
What's your golden rule in cyberspace? Nothing on the internet is free. And if something seems to be, it's because you yourself are the product.
When did you get your first computer, and what kind was it? I got my first computer during elementary school. The operating system was Windows 98, along with Microsoft Encarta. It was amazing for that time.
What's your favorite computer activity or game? As a teenager and in college, I enjoyed RPGs and shooter games. Nowadays, I spend my time reading about relevant cybersecurity topics.
