ESET, the global IT security vendor, is the official organizer of the 17th Association of Anti-Virus Asia Researchers International Conference (AVAR) 2014, the largest Asia Pacific conference on anti-malware, to be held in Sydney, Australia from 12 to 14 November 2014.
AVAR2014  is a great opportunity for anyone interested in safe computing and Internet security. Experts on IT security from around the world will present their findings on the hottest topics in the anti-malware industry. The line-up of experts and exceptional speakers opens with Graham Cluley, a well-regarded security thought leader and ESET WeLiveSecurity.com blogger, who will present his keynote ‘What 20 years working in the Anti-Virus industry taught me’.

"It's an honour to be asked to open the conference with a keynote presentation in front of the world's leading cybercrime experts, and - I admit - somewhat daunting!" said Graham Cluley.

Amongst the distinguished guests ESET researchers will present three pieces of their recent work.

“ESET Researchers have proved many times their position within the security research community. The latest testament to this is the Péter Szőr Award awarded to ESET Research Lab from Canada at Virus Bulletin Conference for their amazing work on the research paper on Operation Windigo,” said Ignacio Sbampato, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at ESET.

The same as previous year in Chennai, the host of this year’s event was selected by the AVAR Board and had to meet the requirements of having local representation in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Over the years, AVAR has been a catalyst for cross-border and inter-organizational collaborations that have made a significant contributions to the industry in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Righard Zwienenberg, Vice-President of the AVAR and ESET Senior Fellow Researcher.

As the traditional participant and long-time AVAR member, ESET is honored to hold the position of organizer.

“Australia is a strategic market for ESET, which is why we decided to open our new office in Sydney and introduced a new and a very attractive partner program earlier this year,” added Lukáš Raška, Chief Operating Officer at ESET ASIA.
