ESET, the leader in proactive protection celebrating 25 years of its technology this year, announces the release of ESET Security for Microsoft SharePoint Server BETA, another addition to its current server product portfolio. ESET BETA Program is a final phase in the release process when products are available for testing to the general public. The new product in BETA is built on the same base as the ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server, with addition of dedicated SharePoint protection component. With this server security solution, customers will be able to apply complex security policy for real-time on-access scanning and perform deep on-demand and scheduled scans of the entire SharePoint data store. The product also comprises rule-based filtering that, based on the several criteria including real file type, allows specifying which files to scan to optimize resource utilization.
In the BETA testing stage, ESET Remote Administrator console does not support ESET Security for Microsoft SharePoint Server. However, ESET is working on the integration to the console and plans have been in place for the general availability release in the Q2 of 2013.
