- Online survey places ESET within top 5 in the home user segment

Nearly 450 millions of people worldwide are familiar with the antivirus software NOD32 or its manufacturer’s brand – ESET. This finding was revealed by a representative survey conducted by United Consultants. The data collection for the survey took place from mid to end of February 2009 on a sample of almost 30, 000 Internet users. The countries taking part in the survey totaled 29, including Central Europe, Japan, China, USA, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany and Argentina, to name a few.
ESET placed 5th globally, on the segment of home users of security software, with a market share of 8,9%, surpassed only by American and Russian security software vendors.What is especially significant for ESET, is the rating of its solutions by the expert users. Among this group, ESET‘s products were found to be used to a higher extent – with upwards of 19% making it the most-widely used security software in this "advanced" group of users.
What’s more, the research revealed that ESET customers exhibit a high degree of satisfaction with their security solutions. This is attested by ESET placing 2nd with its ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security products in the customer satisfaction ranking.The survey also addressed general issues of Internet and software usage. It found that only 10% of the clients who already have security software installed are using a complex security suite. The vast majority -upwards of 70% are using a basic antivirus to protect their workstations.
The survey further showed that ESET is the market leader in the sales of security solutions in Slovakia, Thailand, Hungary, Argentina, Hong-Kong, Romania, Mexico, Turkey, Greece and Spain, with a significant market share in the Czech Republic, Russia, Israel, Poland, China, Saudi Arabia and Italy.
