ESET Announces Release Candidate for ESET Cybersecurity for Mac

ESET announced today the availability of  ESET Cybersecurity for Mac Release Candidate for public testing. ESET Cybersecurity was previously made avaialble for public beta testing on December 2, 2009, under the name ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 for Mac. Beta2 of this software followed on June 10, 2010. The product is now entering the final stage of public testing.

Compared to the product Beta 2 version released in June 2010, the Release Candidate version of ESET Cybersecurity  introduces these new features:

  • New user interface icons
  • Removable media blocking and control (CD, FireWire, USB, and other)
  • Optimization of product performance
  • Fixed bugs reported in BETA1 and BETA2
  • Improved product stability
  • "Check for product updates" functionality

With launch of the security solution for the Mac home user, ESET protects networks encompassing multiple platforms and helps to meet  security compliance initiatives. 

Similarly, ESET Cybersecurity will offer the home user first class protection from threats in a mixed-platform setting. The solution’s advanced ThreatSense® scanning engine  automatically detects and cleans malware, including threats designed for the Windows operating systems, preventing Macs from becoming carriers of malware in a home network.
