ESET uses AI to keep you secure

How does AI shape digital security? Report by Gartner® provides valuable insights

ESET AI´s advantage in Threat Detection, Investigation and Response (TDIR)

In its recent report, we feel, Gartner focused on how security providers leverage AI and machine learning for threat detection, investigation, and response.

ESET was recently featured in the latest report “Emerging Tech - Top Use Cases for AI in Threat Detection, Investigation and Responses”. In our opinion, the emphasis was on exploring how providers plan to leverage AI to augment and support analysts in the Threat Detection, Investigation, and Response process. Gartner report provides valuable insights into the advancements made in enhancing TDIR services or products through the integration of AI.

AI is a tool for security specialists, not their replacement

While AI is quickly becoming an integral part of many fields, including digital security, it must be continuously monitored and trained by trusted experts to ensure that it truly works to our benefit. Nevertheless, the use of artificial intelligence in security has gradually moved from an option to a necessity.

It is also a response to the growing sophistication of cybercriminals, who themselves have begun to leverage the power of machine learning and artificial intelligence to perfect their threats. When trained and supervised by trusted experts, AI solutions can help security providers with alert prioritization, threat investigation and incident response automation. AI can also improve detection results and radically lower false positive/negative rates.

What is ESET's position in the AI revolution?

ESET has been at the forefront of AI in cybersecurity, leveraging machine learning algorithms since 1990. Our commitment to innovation has resulted in a powerful in-house machine learning engine. ESET products utilize two forms of Advanced Machine Learning: a high-powered detection engine in the cloud and a lightweight version on the endpoint. Both employ a handpicked array of classification algorithms, ensuring rapid and accurate threat analysis.

The recent update of our XDR, ESET Inspect, features an AI-powered detection correlation engine, which utilizes multiple automation and AI techniques to correlate various metadata from sensors, raw events, evaluated detections from endpoints on top them and create single incident with visualization of all relevant indicators covering the attack over time. This Automated Incident Creator reduces the time spent on investigation, incident management and effort of the admins required for alert triage. In upcoming future we’ll be introducing interactive AI assistant which will augment the capabilities of our XDR solution.
