ESET Launches ESET NOD32 Antivirus 7 and ESET Smart Security 7 BETA Versions; Improved Protection from Yet Undiscovered Malware Enables Users to Enjoy Technology More Safely

Next story

ESET, a global pioneer in proactive protection for 25-years, announces the BETA release of its flagship consumer products: ESET Smart Security® 7 and ESET NOD32® Antivirus 7, providing enhanced anti-malware protection and improved system cleaning for end users.
The new products proud with the low system footprint capabilities ESET is known for, but now offer users even greater protection from new and yet undiscovered malware with core product technology improvements. ESET Advanced Memory Scanner in V7 BETA stops heavily-encrypted threats designed to evade detection. Overall improved cleaning helps users remove complex rootkits which were previously cleanable only via dedicated cleaning tools.
ESET has proven its top performance capabilities in the latest AV-Comparatives tests, claiming the 2nd spot among global AV vendors, receiving the Advanced+ Award in the May’s Performance Test* with a total score of 189.4, an impact score on system performance of 0.6 and an overall score of 98,9 % in the April’s Real-World Protection testing**.

“Cybercriminals use various obfuscation techniques in their malware to evade detection by our advanced algorithms. The new technology we are introducing with the BETA release of our flagship products, ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security will make it much more difficult for them. At ESET, we create fast security products to improve people’s digital experience and solve their security issues, allowing them to enjoy technology more safely”, says Palo Luka, ESET Chief Technology Officer.

The core technology improvements:ESET NOD32® Antivirus and ESET Smart Security® add advanced levels of protection against threats thanks to three core technology improvements in detection and cleaning. Two of the enhancements are available in the BETA version, with the third advanced functionality will follow later:

  • ESET Advanced Memory Scanner stops heavily-encrypted threats designed to avoid detection. With improved capabilities to analyze decrypted, “stripped” files directly in memory, the software can effectively prevent new and unknown malware attacks.
  • Vulnerability Shield provides robust protection against attempts to exploit known network vulnerabilities.
