ESET partners up with StopBadware for Safer Cyberspace

Next story

ESET, the leader in proactive protection celebrating 25 years of its technology this year, announces its partnership with StopBadware, a non-profit organization that makes the Web safer through the prevention, mitigation, and remediation of badware websites. StopBadware logo
ESET is a staunch supporter of education and academic research, and hopes that its vast knowledge and expertise in the antivirus industry will enrich StopBaware’s discussions and programs. In turn, this co-operation will allow ESET to gain a more extensive insight into the issue and better support website owners whose sites have been infected with malware, educate users browsing the Web and share data with industry stakeholders.

"Partnering with StopBadware, ESET gets a unique opportunity to engage with other key players in the security ecosystem, for example through discussions on StopBadware’s Partners Forum and exchanging data with various security organisations. Eventually, this relationship will help users dealing with infected websites, providing them with even more detailed information about the nature of infiltration and the cleaning process through the StopBadware website",

elaborates Peter Stancik, ESET Security Evangelist.
StopBadware, which started as a project at Harvard University’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society, is the only non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the public from badware websites. The organization aims to build a safer Web by protecting people from and educating them about badware. A group of leading security companies, including ESET, work together to support StopBadware on their mission.

“StopBadware is excited to welcome a security company of ESET’s caliber to our Partner program, ESET’s long record of deep technical knowledge and security leadership will be a valuable addition to our collaborative industry discussions, and the security ecosystem at large will benefit from their commitment to proactively addressing badware.”

said StopBadware Raconteur Caitlin Condon.
