The award from the independent testing organization recognizes software that enables parents to control what their children can access online by blocking inappropriate content and sites.
AV-Comparative’s in-depth “Parental Control Test” report released this week looked at main features of the product, including content filtering, time limit controls, application controls and usability. AV-Comparatives also tested the web-filtering feature of the product to determine how effectively it blocks websites in different categories, such as pornography, drugs and gambling.
“ESET Smart Security’s Parental Control works very well. The list of categories it offers is extensive but not excessive, while the pre-defined age groups are helpful in making a selection for a child of a particular age. In the web-filtering test, it was very effective at blocking unwanted sites,” said Andreas Clementi, CEO of AV-Comparatives.
The Parental Control feature is present in all versions of the higher-tier of ESET’s consumer products, from ESET Smart Security 5 and up. ESET’s consumer segment products are Windows 10-compatible from version 7 onwards.
