The survey was conducted by ASCII General Research Institute, which is the media research center of ASCII Media Works, Inc. based in Tokyo. Its aim was to investigate which aspects of antivirus software are satisfactory and unsatisfactory to the users of software. ESET was highly evaluated and ranked Top in terms of Overall Satisfaction.
The survey was realised in the beginning of September 2009 with 702 people via online questionnaire. The respondents evaluated the individual features and overall impressions of each product by ratings on a scale: "very good", "good", "moderate", "bad", "very bad" which were quantified as 100, 75, 50, 25 and 0 points.
ESET was ranked Top in terms of Response speed with 88,3 points exceeding competitors such as Symantec or Kaspersky by more than 20 points. ESET was also ranked Top in terms of Security Performance with 77,6 points and Stability of the software with 80,8 points. ESET received lower but still good ranking in Cost Effectiveness (55,2 points) and User interface (62,9).
