ESET®, a global pioneer in proactive internet security protection, today announced a significant transformation in its endpoint security products performance and usability. Building on the experience gained from more than 26 years of developing leading security solutions, ESET will introduce a completely redesigned suite of business security products for enterprise applications and small and medium-size businesses (SMBs) in North America later this year.

Today, ESET protects more than 100 million endpoints and actively works with business customers on next-generation technology and threat mitigation strategies. While continuing to offer best-in-class speed and detection, the new ESET business products have been completely reengineered and redesigned to provide the most advanced and easily managed business protection available, thus increasing the strength of internet security and reducing the demands on internal IT resources. The latest offerings from ESET will include industry-leading protection for multiple endpoints, including file servers, email communication, mobile devices and more.

Sobering statistics on the cost of cybercrime published by the InfoSec Institute last year revealed that the average annual cost of cybercrime increased by 26 percent over the previous year to $11.56 million, ranging from $1.3 million to $58 million per organization. The report also highlights recovery and detection as the most costly internal activities. According to EY’s Global Information Security Survey 2014, more than 37 percent of companies lack agility in reacting to ever-changing cyber threats as they have no real-time insight into what’s happening on their multitude of endpoints. These companies, most commonly SMBs, also lack budget and skills to combat rising cybercrime.

“The average cost of cybercrime to businesses continues to rise, yet many businesses still lack the practical real-time ability to efficiently monitor and manage cyber risk,” said Andrew Lee, CEO of ESET North America. “For this reason, we’ve invested heavily in developing a range of new security applications designed specifically for businesses of all sizes that not only deliver unparalleled protection, but also stay true to the ESET promise of easy installation, configuration, and minimal system impact.”

Evaluating the entire roster of infrastructure and endpoint solutions, ESET conducted dozens of in-depth interviews with customers and IT professionals in countries around the world.  Together with this network of customers and prospects, ESET worked diligently to identify key business IT security needs. Surveys conducted with more than 1,000 IT managers revealed that protecting customer data and intellectual property are top concerns for IT professionals*, closely followed by balancing productivity and strong protection. Other data show that ESET customers overwhelmingly choose ESET for its light footprint and ease of administration**.

With this unique insight into the cyber-threat landscape and a clear understanding of the needs of business and enterprise customers, ESET invested heavily in research and development to build products that help businesses fight the growing complexity and volume of malware attacks, hacks, data privacy breaches and more. The new product suite will allow IT administrators and CSOs to do more with the resources, applications and infrastructure they use to run their businesses. Key new feature areas include enhanced reporting and provisioning capabilities, as well as a broad variety of functional enhancements intended to enhance security while making administration easier and providing time and cost savings.

Exceptional security technology is only a part of a complete cybersecurity solution. User behavior along with ease of deployment, administration, and optimization remain cornerstones in an effective internet security strategy. Together with a network of distributors, channel partners, value-added resellers (VARs), and managed service providers (MSPs), ESET protects a robust install base ranging from small businesses to the very largest organizations, including those in healthcare, financial services, education, and government. In addition to endpoint security, complementary solutions available through ESET include encryption, USB drive protection, storage, and two-factor authentication.

The new cross-platform ESET endpoint solutions are designed to provide comprehensive security to companies of all sizes. These next-generation business security capabilities will be available for trial, evaluation and early adoption in the U.S. market in December 2014 and are expected to roll out globally in Q1 2015.
