ESET Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship – 2026
Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: March 8, 2026
1. PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The ESET Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship – 2026 (“Scholarship”) is sponsored by ESET North America (“ESET,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to support women pursuing education in cybersecurity and related STEM fields. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the Scholarship program.
2. ELIGIBILITY
2.1 Applicants must:
- Identify as a woman;
- Be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college or university in the US or Canada;
- Demonstrate an interest in cybersecurity, technology, or related STEM fields and aspire to pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry;
- Meet any academic or documentation requirements stated in the application materials.
2.2 Geographic Eligibility and Awards:
a) United States
- Two(2) scholarships of $10,000 USD each.
- One scholarship is limited to applicants residing in the Greater San Diego Area (see Section 10 for definition).
- One scholarship is open to eligible applicants anywhere in the United States.
b) Canada
- Three (3) scholarships of $5,000 CAD each.
3. APPLICATION PERIOD AND PROCESS
- The application period is March 8, 2026, through April 8, 2026.
- Applications must be submitted through the third-party platform “Reviewr.”
- All required materials must be received by the deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
4. SELECTION PROCESS
- Applications are reviewed through a structured, impartial, and objective process.
- All applications are redacted prior to review to remove personally identifiable information, including names, photographs, contact information, and demographic identifiers.
- Judges only review redacted submissions.
- The judging panel is composed of volunteer internal and external judges who are leaders and professionals in cybersecurity, technology, STEM, leadership, or related fields. Judges may be ESET employees or external industry/community experts.
- Each application is evaluated using a predefined, standardized scoring rubric. Evaluation factors include technical merit, community impact, personal statement responses, and recommendation letters.
- Judges score independently. Finalists are selected based on cumulative scores and professional judgment.
- All decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
5. AWARD NOTIFICATION AND PAYMENT
- Scholarship recipients will be notified by ESET using the contact information provided in their application.
- Scholarship checks will be mailed to the recipient.
- Recipients are responsible for any taxes or reporting obligations associated with the award.
6. PUBLICITY AND IMAGE USE
- By accepting the Scholarship, winners agree to participate in public announcements and press releases, which may include the winner’s name and school or academic institution.
- Winners must provide a photo upon request.
- Winners grant ESET the right to use their name, image, likeness, and biographical information for promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes related to the Scholarship, in any media, without further compensation or notice.
- Non-winning applicants’ identities will not be disclosed publicly.
7. ALUMNI PROGRAM
- All Scholarship winners are automatically enrolled in the ESET Scholarship Alumni Program, which may include networking opportunities, mentorship, and invitations to future programs or events.
- Winners may opt out of the Alumni Program at any time by contacting ESET at the address provided in Section 13.
8. MODIFICATION OR CANCELLATION
- ESET reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Scholarship program or these Terms at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.
- In the event of program cancellation, ESET will not be liable for any damages or obligations beyond the return of any unawarded scholarship funds.
9. DISCLAIMER OF GUARANTEE; LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
- ESET does not guarantee the award of any scholarship or the outcome of the selection process.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, ESET and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to the Scholarship, including but not limited to application submission, selection, or award.
10. DEFINITIONS
- “Greater San Diego Area” means San Diego County, California, including all incorporated cities, municipalities, neighborhoods, census-designated places, and unincorporated communities within the County, including but not limited to North County, East County, South Bay, and Central San Diego.
11. GOVERNING LAW AND VENUE
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
- Any disputes arising from or relating to the Scholarship shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in San Diego County, California.
12. PRIVACY
- By applying, applicants acknowledge and agree to the ESET Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship Privacy Addendum, which supplements ESET’s main U.S. and Canada Privacy Policy.

PRIVACY ADDENDUM
Effective Date: March 8, 2026
This Privacy Addendum (“Addendum”) supplements ESET’s main U.S. Privacy Policy (https://www.eset.com/us/policy-hub/privacy/) and applies specifically to the ESET Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship – 2026 (“Scholarship”). In the event of a conflict between this Addendum and ESET’s main Privacy Policy, this Addendum will control for Scholarship-related matters.
1. DATA COLLECTED
ESET and its service providers collect and process the following categories of personal information for Scholarship administration:
- Identification and contact information (such as name, address, email, phone number);
- Academic information (such as school, program, enrollment status, transcripts);
- Application materials (including essays, recommendation letters, and personal statements);
- Communications related to the Scholarship;
- Photos (winners only).
2. PURPOSES OF USE
Personal information is used solely for:
- Administering the Scholarship, including eligibility verification, application review, selection, and award distribution;
- Communicating with applicants regarding the Scholarship and related opportunities during the retention period;
- Publicity and promotional purposes for winners, as described in the Terms & Conditions;
- Alumni Program administration for winners.
3. THIRD-PARTY PROCESSING
- Applications are collected and processed via “Reviewr,” a third-party platform acting as ESET’s service provider/processor.
- Reviewr processes applicant data on ESET’s behalf and is contractually required to protect applicant information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
4. DATA RETENTION
- Applicant personal information is retained for no longer than one (1) year after the conclusion of the Scholarship cycle.
- After one year, applicant personal data is deleted or anonymized, except as required by law.
- ESET may contact applicants during this period with information about future scholarships or related opportunities.
- ESET does not retain applicant information beyond this period unless required by law.
5. NO SALE OR COMMERCIAL USE
- Applicant information is not sold or used for unrelated marketing purposes.
6. DISCLOSURE AND PUBLICITY
- Only the names, academic institutions, and photos of Scholarship winners may be disclosed publicly, as described in the Terms & Conditions.
7. DATA SECURITY
- ESET and its service providers implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect applicant information.
8. ALUMNI PROGRAM AND OPT-OUT
- Scholarship winners are automatically enrolled in the ESET Scholarship Alumni Program.
- Winners may opt out of the Alumni Program at any time by contacting ESET at the address below.
