MSP market shift helping to drive ESET channel growth

Next story

As organizations continue to look to resellers and service providers to help them fight today’s latest cyber threats, IT security firm ESET is securing itself as a trusted, go-to vendor and partner as it continues to ramp up its channel-focused businesses.

Today, ESET announced its channel business has seen record growth and revenue coming from the Managed Service Provider (MSP) segment and is the fastest growing of its channel partner mix. ESET’s MSP revenue growth is up 46 percent year-to-date and MSP partner recruitment is up 40 percent year over year.

Many may not realize that ESET is the No. 1 endpoint security vendor in the European Union and is gaining steam in the North America market; Forrester just elevated ESET to “Leader” status in its Endpoint Security Wave report; Gartner moved ESET up in its 2017 Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms report, naming them the only “Challenger”; and earlier this year Google cemented a deal with ESET, making ESET the security partner powering its Google Chrome Cleanup browser tool. These are just a few wins for the vendor.

ESET also has some of the largest, most iconic companies in the world as customers; many of those are US-based companies. Currently ESET’s North America business makes up 20 percent of its global revenue, and it anticipates this market will continue to drive its growth. The company sees its channel, and MSPs especially, as a pivotal part of its upward trajectory.

“More companies are relying on MSPs for a variety of technology solutions, and endpoint security is increasingly in that mix,” said ESET Partner Community Manager Cameron Tousley. “Our growth in this segment validates that ESET is prepared and committed to supporting MSPs and providing them with the resources to increase their security software revenue.”

ESET has also been making inroads in Canada since establishing an office there in 2016. ESET Canada has seen its MSP revenue growth nearly double in the past year.

ESET attributes the channel momentum to a number of factors, including its increasing investment in its channel programs. In the last 12 months, ESET has launched and enhanced a number of initiatives:

·       ESET Marketing Center: A new ESET Marketing Center via MindMatrix, one of the largest email and content marketing platforms at no cost. The tool is a complete end-to-end marketing partner automation platform that ESET partners can now use to brand content and resources, deploy email campaigns and manage their prospect database, all from one easy-to-use console.

·       Technical Training Programs: ESET has added new technical experts to its Learning and Development team, which has created and developed technical training programs helping MSPs become trusted security advisors.

·       Revamped ESET Security Days: Enabling partners to host these events that allow a direct connection to and learning sessions with their customers and prospects.

ESET’s Partner Program has garnered several honors in 2018. For the fourth consecutive year, CRN gave ESET a 5-Star rating in its 2018 Partner Program Guide, and three ESET leaders were recognized in CRN’s 2018 Women of the Channel list.
