SLIEDRECHTJuly 16, 2026 — The Dutch Central Government (Rijksoverheid) has entered into a government-wide framework agreement with ESET. This allows government organizations to use ESET’s cybersecurity solutions under pre-agreed terms and conditions. The agreement supports the Dutch government’s ambition to strengthen digital resilience and reduce dependence on non-European technology.

For ESET, this agreement marks an important step in the further development of a strong European cybersecurity ecosystem. In cooperation with SLM Rijk, prior agreements were made regarding areas including privacy, data processing, data location, and oversight. This provides a reliable foundation for the use of European cybersecurity technology within the Dutch central government.

The framework agreement is available with immediate effect to government organizations. They can make use of the agreed terms and conditions without entering into separate contract negotiations, while retaining full freedom of choice. There is no purchase obligation or minimum spending requirement, and organizations can decide for themselves whether and when to make use of the agreement.

Dave Maasland, CEO of ESET Netherlands: “Europe does not have to choose between innovation and security. We can deliver both. This agreement demonstrates that European technology can meet the highest standards while also offering a credible alternative for critical digital infrastructure. This requires not only trust in technology, but also confidence in our own capacity for innovation.”

With this framework agreement, ESET and the Dutch central government are taking an important joint step towards a digitally resilient and future-proof public sector. ESET looks forward to supporting government organizations in the years ahead with European cybersecurity solutions that contribute to security, trust, and digital autonomy.
