Presenter: Ben Reed, Sr. Technical Content Strategist
With attacks like WannaCry/WannaCryptor and XData making headlines worldwide, ransomware is starting to sound like old news.
Unfortunately, it’s not. More than 4,000 ransomware attacks have occurred every day since the beginning of 2016. That's a 300 percent increase over 2015.¹
And in 2016, the U.S. Department of Justice reported that the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) had received nearly 7,700 public complaints regarding ransomware since 2005, totaling $57.6 million in damages. Those damages include ransoms paid—generally $200 to $10,000, according to the FBI—as well as other costs and the estimated value of data lost.
With the threat of ransomware on the rise, join this webinar with Ben Reed, ESET senior technical content strategist, to learn how to protect your business, including:
- The origins of ransomware and its progression
